Competition robotics
Sri Lankan Robotics Challenge and RoboRoarZ
Competition robots have to work on the day, in front of judges, with no second attempt. Three campaigns built the habits the lab still works by: test the full software and hardware setup together, and simulate before touching the arena.
Sri Lankan Robotics Challenge 2022, university category
Implemented algorithms to solve the Tower of Hanoi with custom manipulators, designed the robot hardware configuration and tested the full software and hardware setup, including maze solving and line following.
RoboRoarZ Robot Challenge, Singapore, 2024
Developed algorithms for the Smorphi reconfigurable robot platform, designed reconfigurable-robot concepts for disaster management and took part in robotics workshops.
Sri Lankan Robotics Challenge 2021, school category
C++ controllers for a custom robot that completed the finals tasks: floor-pattern decoding, wall following, a simulated radar task and a transmitter/receiver task.
Scorpion, 2023
Team-designed battle robot with separately powered weapon and drive systems, focused on power management to keep full strength throughout a fight.
